Weight loss surgery alternative, pros and cons dialogue

As my readers know, my weight loss camp guests are seeking non-surgical weight loss as a healthy weight loss surgery alternative. I host an adult weight loss retreat residence in Southern Nevada year-round. In lieu of bariatric surgery risks and complications thereof, self-empowerment by way of new lifestyle habits always wins. Furthermore, many guests are weight loss surgery patients with more weight that comes back.

Thanks for reaching out. However, insurance is not applicable to my small business operation which is not a clinical facility, but a private residence in business since 2008. It is private pay, but I can help you remotely to get started on losing 100 pounds today. Feel free to reply and I will get back to you promptly.

Gastric Bypass Surgery Alternative

So, I have compassion for those regretting their gastric bypass surgeries. After all, if it is such a good idea, why are they coming to my weight loss camp afterward? They are here to learn healthy eating habits and activities to stay fit.

Weighing Pros and Cons of Weight Loss Surgery vs Non Surgical Weight Loss

My compassion for helping those suffering from obesity compels me to want to help in any way possible. Since the first question concerns insurance coverage, it is clear that the person has not read my FAQ page. So, I explain to her in a chat that small steps can lead to weight loss success.

Thank you for caring. I actually have an appointment to discuss gastric bypass

“Surgery is not the best way. Believing in yourself in small steps will get you empowering success.”

She simply doesn’t want to hear it. Already set for a consultation for bariatric surgery, her mind is made up.

Yea but insurance will pay for it

Here we have the sad commentary on non-surgical weight loss and weight loss surgery pros and cons by someone giving up.

“I would not advise such drastic methods of weight loss because I have seen many people come to my place afterward. They are not able to digest nutrients from food the natural way our bodies should. Taking supplements for life doesn’t do as well as healthy eating. The weight comes back in many cases. That’s why they decide to finally eat right even though the surgical damage is done.”
Sadly, the person is giving up, and her remark of appreciation for showing that I care quickly shifts.
“Unsubscribe”

So, I pray a silent prayer for the person who is set on what she thinks is her only hope. Then, I see her saying she has a food addiction to soda and junk.

“I know what my problem is. I’m addicted to soda and junk. It’s like an addict.”

Hopefully, pre-surgical evaluations will determine that she needs therapy for food addiction rather than weight loss surgery. Surely, she is not a safe candidate for weight loss success without addressing addiction first.

Besides food addiction, some obese people simply need a CPAP for sleep apnea.

Sustainable Weight Loss Surgery Alternative

Long-term non surgical weight loss often depends more on consistency and accountability than short periods of motivation.

For many adults, non surgical weight loss may provide a more sustainable path toward improving mobility, strength, health habits, and physical independence.

Long-term accountability, functional fitness, progressive strength training, outdoor fitness activities, and consistent lifestyle habits may provide a practical weight loss surgery alternative focused on improving mobility, strength, physical capability, and long-term health behaviors rather than relying entirely on rapid medical interventions.
