Best Weight Sleds for Outdoors

Rogue Echo Dog Sled, Rogue S-35 E Series Weight Sled

The S-35 E Series Rogue weight sled, a February 2015 purchase, is my favorite of the best weight sleds for outdoors, but the Echo Dog sled is also a must!

First, try the S-35 E Series sled, strictly a pulling sled with release straps for a shot-out-of-a-cannon burst of speed. Talk about adrenaline, and it’s an all-out blast!

The Echo Dog sled features skids on the bottom, as opposed to a solid metal plate, offering plastic skis for noise control.

Sound is a concern. My neighbors notice when we’re using the noisy sled, yet I want more weight sled workouts. So come watch me on my Echo Dog Sled Unboxing video as I test out the prowler-style Echo Dog Sled with plastic skis to quell the noise.

Here’s the best practice for your Rogue weight sled workout. First, commit to a hundred feet- 30 yards without a load, then add loads incrementally to achieve 85 percent of maximum effort per set. So to recap, the recommended technique for pushing the weighted Echo Dog sled is a vertical posture with the chest up. Initiate with the heel strike rather than on the toes, elbows bent and braced against the ribcage. With long strides engaging the abdominals, hips, and hip extensors require greater demand and safer exercise.

Non-eccentric movement can avoid or minimize soreness while benefiting the cardiovascular systems. Do short, intense anaerobic, or long steady-state aerobic bouts with any of the weight sleds.

The Rogue Echo Dog Sled actual product weight is 87 pounds with a capacity of 450 plus.

The S-35 E Series sled product weight is 26 Lbs with a capacity of adding 315 Lbs or seven 45 Lbs weight plates.

USPA Powerlifting Coach, John Domingo says he’s convinced the sled technique is helpful to the bench press, “because you’re keeping your back really tight in that same position where you’d be in the bench press.”

NOTE:  Get your plastic skis as the add-on to the actual sled rather than choose it in your shopping cart separately. You will save $40 by doing so. Watch the video for details.
