As expected, his pounds are coming down, and fitness is going up at weight loss boot camp.
So, after six weeks of living, sleeping, eating, breathing fitness at weight loss camp — even a morbidly obese 500 Lb man gets results fast.
As one can imagine, total immersion is key for new lifestyle habits to take home.
When you leave your family and home behind, you depart from the negative anchors and behavioral patterns perpetuating the same habits. Unfortunately, those same old habits are what you can’t seem to kick on your own no matter how you try. With no distractions, no enabling factors, even the most morbidly obese 500 Lb man can embrace the athlete within.
Magically, a negative body image won’t last long with daily feats of improved efforts. Muscle-building coupled with faith-building makes a man strong inside and out. Starting with a reasonable progression means each day creates another stepping stone to a new life after weight loss boot camp.
So you just might wonder what can a 500Lb morbidly obese person do at a fitness and weight loss camp?
Okay, I hear ya. Since you’re already with me here, would you mind if I simply show you? Keep in mind; not every guest arrives at my live-in weight loss residence in the same condition. Or the same frame of mind, for that matter.
First things first, an initial assessment is made when I demonstrate a few functional moves or “daily life skills.” Next, the client shows me what they can do. From there, we progress. Each session is based on multiple factors: sleep, fatigue, muscular soreness, and daily disposition. I continue to assess while I progress each person, using the motivational drivers known to me. A person’s drivers are unique, requiring discovery. For example, Solomon wanted to impress his teenage son with daily video clips of our adventures. The variety and creativity are what makes fitness fun. Then Solomon was proud to show his fitness trainers back home what he was capable of after his astounding comeback.
The 500 Lb man isn’t training in a commercial gym.
Taking a 500 Lb man into a commercial gym is out of the question. There are plenty of reasons for that. However, some of what we do can be done in a gym. Definitely, there won’t be machine training. The human body is the machine.
Finding recreational activities a client leans toward gives us specific training goals. Incorporating drills for those activities is motivating and builds confidence for new goals.

Whole-body movements–compound muscle movements and dynamic core balance, increase the ability to move through space against resistance. Today, he has eight more days to go before he returns home with a whole new lifestyle. The progress has only begun here at our Las Vegas Weight Loss Boot Camp. Best of all, he claims to be having fun with each day’s personal best.
Functional fitness exercise mimics daily life skills, everyday functions of work, and play. The industry definition of “fitness” is the physical ability to perform tasks of daily living with a reserve left over for play. But, of course, that’s all relative to individual goals and lifestyle choices.
I know that I’m not your typical fitness coach because I don’t consider what I do as “work.” When you find the kind of work you love, you never have to work another day in your life.
